Jessie Vickery

Canadian singer/song-writer Jessie Vickery used her recent ascent into adulthood as inspiration for her new six-single EP called “Growth Spurts. Vickery said two of the songs on the EP, the title track and “Like a Baby” encapsulate where she’s at in her life now.

Vickery grew up in a musical family in the Canadian twin cities of Kitchener Waterloo in the part of Ontario that lies between Lakes Huron, Erie and Ontario. She started singing very young, playing the role of Annie in the musical of the same name in elementary school and performing in a high school show choir that won the prestigious Show Choir Canada contest. By the age of 12 she began writing her own lyrical and instrumental pieces, only to continue to learn and grow her sound into what it is today.

She put out a series of singles in 2020 and 2021, then recently signed with Sonar Records and began working with their lead producer Adrian “The AI” Irvine on the songs leading to “Growth Spurts” her first solo EP. Vickery’s sound is unique, pulling influence from modern artists such as Clairo, Lennon Stella, Phoebe Bridgers, Holly Humberstone and Julia Michaels. She isn’t afraid to push her boundaries and experiment with sounds outside her comfort zone.
